The lyrics

An original idea

Searching for your place
Craving a happy end
Feeling like no-one knows your ways
Never here to stay
Yearning for a friend

So step into the light
Here you don’t have to hide
Your dreams will come alive
So dance with me through the night
A spark to ignite the flame
That’ll carry you away
Into our world of fantasy
Here you will be free
To revel, to search
For what you deserve

A home like you’ve never seen

Return s’though you’d never left
To la cour des Rêves

La cour, la cour, la cour
Des Rêves, des Rêves, des Rêves
La cour, la cour, la cour
Des Rêves, des Rêves, des Rêves
La cour, la cour, la cour
Des Rêves, des Rêves, des Rêves
La cour, la cour, la cour
Des Rêves, des Rêves, des Rêves

La cour des Rêves

The Songwriting Process for the Court of Dreams

The violinist Toriyuca

Since its inception, La Cour des Rêves has distinguished itself with a clear ambition: to offer much more than an event, but a true gateway to another world. To extend this immersive experience, one essential element was still missing: music capable of embodying the soul of the project. Léonore had long cherished a somewhat secret dream: that one day, someone would compose her song. A childhood wish, but above all, a deep desire to endow La Cour des Rêves with a unique sonic identity.

In the world of fantasy balls, no event had yet had its own anthem. Now, the Court of Dreams opens the ball with its own.

Conceived as an epic waltz, the song accompanies the entrance into the world of the ball. It tells the story of what La Cour des Rêves (The Court of Dreams) wishes to offer everyone: a place where there is no longer a need to hide, where dreams come alive again.

To bring this theme to life, La Cour des Rêves turned to the German-Italian composer Giorg¡a, whose musical universe, a blend of fairy pop, magical folk, and cinematic flights of fancy, resonates naturally with the project. The collaboration was a natural fit. And to tell this story, nothing is more fitting than to let Giorg¡a herself speak about it...

The creative process
By Giorg¡a

Creating the Theme for „La Cour des Rêves“ was such a great and smooth process! Personally, I love working within a framework of a concept, so when Léonore reached out to me about this opportunity, I was over the moon! I’d been wanting to create something for the fantasy balls I love performing at so much for a while, so her message made me extremely excited.
The most important thing to me, when it comes to commission, is that I can really bring to life what the client is envisioning, even if they maybe aren’t able to fully put it into words. So, we had a meeting to really talk about what she envisioned for this piece and what was most important to her, which gave me a good guideline for the genre, mood and keywords to work with and is just started writing, checking in with her along the way.

Right off the bat I knew I wanted to do something different from what I’ve done before: I wanted there to be a lead violin à la Lindsey Stirling to really give it that fantasy feeling. So, blessed as I am with many talented musician friends, I reached out to Toriyuca and she loved the idea! Seeing that it was music for a Ball, I suggested making it a 3/4 rhythm, so people could actually waltz to it. I wrote the song around the vocal melody and left the violin parts blank/ only gave rough melodic guides and just let Toriyuca do her thing. Her violin arrangement really turned out beautiful.

I also really wanted to incorporate the name of the ball, which is how I came up with the end section that is repeating it over and over. It was important to me for it to be as interactive and fitting as possible, so with a very simple choir part like that people could sing along really easily and create this immersive community experience together! The choir was created thanks to some amazing friends & colleagues of both me and Léonore, who graciously lent their voices and sent in recordings, so it would actually sound like a choir of many different voices.

Overall, i wanted to create the feeling of a trailer that could still easily be used in social media friendly snippets though, so Léonore could actually use it for her marketing of the event as well. This is why it starts really lowkey, only has one real verse and builds from there, ending in epicness and the whispered ball name by Léonore herself! Giving her that little moment of actually being part of it was really important to me and is what made it all the more special, I think. „La Cour des Rêves (Official theme)“ is supposed to be a door into the fantastical worlds we create for ourselves and that La Cour des Rêves creates for their attendees, so I really hope I was able to achieve that feeling of stepping into a fantasy, a dream for everyone who listens!
